Trading Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in applying to become a retailer at our Designers Emporium. The Designers Emporium has been operating on a regular basis since November 2007 and we are building momentum to becoming a quality marketplace for boutique items. Our aim is to continue on a monthly basis, opening for trade on the first Sunday of each month from 9am until 1pm. Listed below is the proposed dates of trade for 2009.
We currently have space for 25 individual stall holders that offer a variety of quality products with unique design and affordability. Our markets showcase predominately hand made boutique items; treasures that you will not and cannot find in the stores. We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, an up to date funky feel and a genuine desire to provide our customers with a unique relaxed shopping experience.
We are branching out and offering the public many and varied avenues to explore the many wonders on offer at the Designers Emporium and this can be seen on our recently updated website where shoppers can join our mailing list or view our stallholder's wares.
Due to our increasing popularity, space to trade in the marketplace is at a premium, so please understand our individual process to hand select our quality stallholders and complete all the necessary requirements. It is through this process that we show our current and offer our new stallholders the respect that is deserved.
Our aim is to attract stallholders with a desire to trade on a permanent basis giving our customers continuity and reassurance in our markets.
Our Mission Statement
We aim to provide a boutique style marketplace for retailers to showcase their unique wares, in a relaxed and supportive environment. This allows the individual business owner to form partnerships with like minded traders who may also share similar aspirations and goals. Our marketplace will extend through our internet services that we offer our retailers so that continuity and exposure is maximised.
Our choice of venue
The Everton Park Hotel was chosen specifically to cater to the needs of our customers. Whether we are in CC's Lounge Bar or the expansive Marquee, The Everton Park Hotel offers a relaxed intimate appeal with our markets indoors so we are here rain or shine. There is ample parking, ATM facilities, wheelchair access, a fantastic playground for the kids, Restaurants and of course you can sit down and enjoy fabulous coffee and cake in CC'S Bar or in the surrounds of the market area.

Terms of Trade
Criteria
Stallholders trading at our Emporiums are hand selected and must meet specific criteria to ensure our customers are offered the boutique shopping experience we aim to promote.
We look for:
· Product uniqueness
· Quality/finish
· Style/tastefulness
· Depth of product range
· Cohesiveness of entire range i.e. it tells a story, all products are relevant to one another
· Professionalism of presentation of the business/concept (including visual merchandising and marketing material to be used at the Emporium)
· Is the product the right fit for the Designers Emporium customer demographic
· Availability of the product in other retail spaces
· Level of personal involvement of the applicant in the design/creation/production of the product
· We are not an avenue for promoting party plans, nor a way of selling off old stock, sale stock or mass produced items.
A genuine desire by all stallholders to respect our markets and the other retailers who trade.
Our selection process is in place to protect the good name of our market and to ensure a high level of quality and uniqueness from our traders. The organisers reserve the right to refuse an application based on the criteria provided to them.
Community Support
In the past we have offered our support to help raise funds for the B105 Children's Christmas Appeal in conjunction with one of their major sponsors, The Everton Park Hotel. At times we may ask our stallholders to support such causes as we see appropriate by providing products for raffles or donations. We (and the select Appeals) appreciate all the assistance from the wider community and most importantly our very important retail traders.
Our dot com.
The www.designersemporium.com.au is now up and running and we anticipate its popularity to go from strength to strength. This dot com aims to provide marketing exposure during the weeks leading up to an Emporium as well as to bring potential wholesale buyers. Your inclusion of quality graphics, logo's and photographs of your products will promote extensive exposure to a broader audience, so please ensure you complete all parts of this e-application. The Designers Emporium organisers can assist where necessary on product presentation, logos and any design aspects you may require at a minimal cost. Stallholder Fees and Membership Fee Structure
As the Designers Emporium expands, we have now set up a membership program allowing stallholders varied avenues to showcase their business within our markets and importantly on our website and mailing list. We have compiled a comprehensive selection of products and services that can be tailored to the requirements of your business. This membership program is now current and any new applicant to trade is required to join one of the 3 varying levels of membership; Bronze, Silver or Gold. Other Information
· Retailers must sell only the range/product that has been detailed and approved in their Application Form
· Fees are non refundable unless the space can be filled
· Fees must be paid by the due date otherwise the space will be filled by another retailer
· Owner(s) of the business must be at the Designers Emporium for the vast majority of trading hours
· Retailers are responsible for the security of their own merchandise
· When offered a position at the Designers Emporium an invoice will be sent within the week

If you are interested in trading please email us to request a Retailer Application and return it to us, along with your $15 application fee as soon as possible. While every effort is made to include your stall in our next market, your application will be reviewed on individual merit and we will notify you with an Offer of Trade via email
